Meet three of our SHINE@ISS students:   Anja: Despite being wheelchair-bound with a hearing impairment, Anja excels in processing quotations and payroll preparation. Her expertise in property management, acquired through our in-house training, has garnered praise from supervisors and clients alike. Anja’s active engagement with colleagues and trainees fosters a strong sense of community within our team.   Jason: Joining us in 2021, Jason, a graduate from a SEN school with experience in the F&B industry, now works at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Monthly catch-ups and on-the-job guidance have empowered him to perform his tasks independently, enhancing his professional growth and personal fulfilment.   Yiu Kwan: Working as a cleaner at a Hong Kong public hospital, Yiu Kwan, a 19-year-old with autism, thrives in structured environments. His meticulous attention to detail has led to recognition and a promotion within a year of joining ISS, showcasing the potential realised when individuals receive appropriate support and opportunities.   These stories highlight the transformative impact of the SHINE@ISS programme. By entering into this partnership, ISS will explore how we can use the powerful operational insights from our Workplace App in combination with Microsoft’s Places, a newly launched AI-powered connected workplace app, to elevate the workplace experience for in-office, roaming and remote employees. We’re excited to announce that Michael Vitfell-Rasmussen has accepted the role as new Head of Group Investor Relations at ISS. Michael brings over 20 years of equity market and financial experience, working as an analyst covering a wide range of disciplines and industries, including shipping, brewers, retail, transportation, and service companies. Michael joins ISS from Danske Bank and prior to this, he held various senior analyst and research positions in ABG Sundal Collier, SEB Enskilda, and Gudme Raaschou. Michael has an MSc in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School. “I am truly excited to welcome Michael to the ISS team. ISS is on an exciting journey, having developed into a value-creating enterprise over the past few years. With Michael’s extensive knowledge of the equity market, I am confident that he will contribute greatly to strengthening this narrative with our key stakeholders”, says Mads Holm, Group CFO of ISS as of 3 June 2024. Be yourself and stay open to change. If Joanna Lukowska had to give just one piece of advice to colleagues, or those entering the job market, this would be it. She’s a native Pole, and back in 2011, she could never have imagined that one day she would be working and living in Indonesia. In 2011, Joanna had plans to start her own company after building a career as an auditor in a large consultancy firm. However, during a farewell phone call to one of her audit clients, the former CFO of ISS Polska, her plans took a surprising turn. She was offered a role as the deputy CFO of ISS Poland. Despite it being a step down in her career, she saw potential and decided to seize the opportunity. The rest is history. Today, Joanna is CFO for ISS Indonesia. The recurring theme of Joanna’s journey is ‘people’. At ISS A/S, she discovered that people are not only core and centre of ISS’s business, she also experienced first-hand how important it is to stay alert to the individual potential in all of us, no matter who we are. “If others had not spotted and nurtured mine, I would not be embarking on this adventure in Indonesia right now”, she says.
